211 is a free referral service that connects you to government and nonprofit resources to help meet basic needs like food, housing, health, & more. This easy-to-remember telephone number connects people in need with available community resources to meet those needs.

STEP – For current SNAP recipients that are looking to better their employment opportunities through job search and training. Drop in at WSPM-SE, 6401 SE Foster Road and ask to speak with a WorkSource Business and Employment Specialist to inquire or request a referral.

Training Unemployment Insurance
Find out how you can continue to receive unemployment insurance benefits while in job training or education programs by calling the Training Unemployment (TUI) Program at 1-800-436-6191
Self-Employment Assistance Program
The Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Program helps eligible unemployed workers set up a business on a full-time basis instead of job hunting and still receive full unemployment insurance benefits.
For eligibility inquiries, call your local office and ask for the Self-Employment Assistance Program representative or call SEAP directly at 1-800-436-6191
Veterans
WorkSource Portland Metro has specialized staff to answer questions about your military benefits and assist you with a variety of services including job placement, training, and referral to support services.
