
The SE Works NewBeginnings program is a person centered program to assist TANF recipients with access to a wide range of community resources. Our team of SE Works Community Health Navigators support participants to achieve their professional and personal goals towards self-sufficiency.
Note: This program is only open to TANF recipients – if interested please see your DHS Family Coach for a referral. We are here for you!

The services we offer include:
Job Readiness & Employment Services
From skill assessment and resume writing to job training programs, as well as application assistance within a variety of career options. Whether you are interested in a position such as health care work, banking, green careers we offer onsite cost free occupational training.
Child Services
Our Navigators will work with you and your family to identify child-centered resources and child care/ minding services that fit your needs, so that you are able to focus on your goals.
Life Skills Services
Navigators offer 1:1 coaching, person centered planning and supports for each Participant in order to further develop both relational and professional skills. Classes are available as well, including Development of Workplace Skills, Employment Retention Skills, Daily Living Skills, Self-Esteem Building Skills and Decision Making Skills. You will receive consistent support towards your goals, with regular check-ins as your Navigator will provide assistance to access the resources that best fit you and your individual needs and interests!
Rehabilitation Services
If you are experiencing physical or medical challenges, our Navigators can assist with barrier reduction towards greater employability and self-sufficiency. Each person has their own challenges, and we recognize the importance of assessment towards what is working or not for each individual, we will work with you towards these goals.
Drug & Alcohol Services
Navigators provide 1:1 support to address addiction as a medical condition. We will assist with culturally responsive resources to address addiction and substance use disorders such as treatment, clean and sober housing, support groups and medical referrals.
Youth Employment Program (YEP)
YEP Services are for TANF youth (including teen parents and young parents ages 16-24 and TANF non-parenting teens ages 16-18). Services include job readiness activities and employment placements.

- Identify and address barriers to employment
- Employment skills assessment or career aptitude tests
- Skills training to remove barriers to employment and improve employability
- Money management and financial literacy
- Connection to ongoing services for additional training and education opportunities, such as pre-apprenticeship programs, vocational training, or higher education
- Job placement
Medical & Mental Health Services
We provide assistance and support towards greater access to culturally responsive medical services that meet your individual health concerns are provided to assist with medical concerns. Stress and distress is a leading cause to many medical issues, and this can impact our life and self-sufficiency goals. Navigators will assist with locating appropriate Mental Health related care services to meet your needs.
Stabilization Living Services
If you are needing assistance to find stable and safe housing, Navigators will support you with advocacy to prevent eviction and rehousing resources to secure a safe and secure home environment.
